There was homosexuality in My Sister’s Keeper? Wow I totally missed that sub plot. I read it a while ago, and I really enjoyed the story even for all its darkness. It is one of those where the characters have stayed with me and I think about the book and how intense it was.
Now the Chocolate War, well it isn’t age appropriate, I would have to say if I was teaching again I wouldn’t have it in my classroom. I just read it and I was distinctly uncomfortable reading it, not to mention there was no resolution at the end of the book, it just stopped, that bothered me but that is the fault of the writer. Because of the story and the way it ended I don’t know if I would even encourage HS children to read it since I didn’t actually find a point to the book. But I could have missed something.
Although the video was lovely, I don’t believe having video with the audio added anything to my experience. In fact, it made it more difficult to consume, since I had to be at my computer; I wisely chose to not watch it while driving. (Yes, I meant to split that infinitive.)
Thanks, Larry.
The audio alone is there too–on the page here and on the feed (in case you missed that). I’m not sure how I’m going to proceed in the future. I don’t think I’ll ever abandon the audio, but I’m not sure of the best way to get the audio to the people who want audio and video to the people who want video.
Very good written information. It will be useful to anybody who utilizes it, including myself. Keep doing what you are doing – looking forward to more posts.
